I would like to draw your attention to the following PhD position opening.

Sinter in Roman aqueducts as a data source for palaeoclimate, neotectonics and human culture.

The Romans constructed more than 800 aqueducts throughout the Mediterranean. Sinter (travertine) deposits in these aqueducts can provide information on climate, land use, microstructures and earthquakes by analysis of crystal structure, stable isotopes and trace elements.
