Tethys Geology Group

Tethys was formed by two geology students (Department of Geology and Geoenvironment, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece) during 2006 with the first opening presentation of the group happening on the 18th of December of the same year.

The initiative for founding this group was taken after the realisation that there was a need among those sharing the same interest and enthusiasm for geosciences for some common ground and better communication. The main objective of this group is to cover that need and operate as a pivotal point for its members through the activities and events that developes.

Activities such as lectures, presentations, excursions, seminars and others.

Tethys is a group that refers to all who find interest in geosciences but also to those who are just curious to learn more about it.
